Respite House

Our respite house is Milton Clarke House.

Milton Clarke House was opened on 29 March 2003 and is named after a member of the Society, Mr Milton Clarke who had an asbestos related disease and whose donation assisted in the purchase of the house.

Milton Clarke House has a 3 bedroom house upstairs and 2 one bedroom self-contained units downstairs, one of which has full disabled access. The house and both units are fully airconditioned.

Milton Clarke House provides accommodation for:

- Country members of the Society who come to Brisbane for diagnosis or outpatient treatment such as Chemotherapy and/or Radiology.
- Family members of people with asbestos related disease who live in country areas and come to Brisbane to visit people with asbestos related disease who are hospitalised.
- Carers of people with asbestos related disease who need a break away from home.

Milton Clarke House is made available at no cost to country members of the Society and their family when the members come to Brisbane for diagnosis and/or treatment. Carers who use the house for a holiday or break are charged $20.00 per day.
